The local government of Manila has prohibited all business owners in the city from selling any Ashley Shine beauty products because of various violations.
Bureau of Permits Director Levi Facundo advised through a letter all business owners not to sell the said product as it has not undergone any “verification process” from the Food and Drugs Authority and that it has no “proper authorization” to be recognized as a beauty product.
Aside from it, the product—which drew Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso’s ire for indicating in their label that Manila is a province of China—“may fall under misbranding products.”
Facundo warned businesses of closure or a cease and desist order should they be caught selling the said product, the local government said.
“All concerned establishments are warned not to use, sell or distribute the above-identified violative cosmetic products until they have already been covered by the appropriate authorization (cosmetic notification), otherwise, regulatory actions and sanctions shall be strictly pursued,” Facundo told business owners in a letter.
