In the works: ‘Resident Evil’ live-action series

The live-action series adaptation of the popular survival horror game “Resident Evil” is in the works, Netflix revealed on Thursday.

The streaming platform announced the project by sharing a photo of the script on the NX official Facebook page.

“When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything. Resident Evil, a new live action series based on Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise, is coming to Netflix,” the post read.

The live action-adaptation will be written by “Supernatural” executive producer and co-showrunner Andrew Dabb and directed by Bronwen Hughes.

According to entertainment news website Deadline, it will be an eight episode and will “feature a brand new story across two timelines.”

The first timeline will focus on the fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker moved to New Raccoon City. However, they will realize that the town is more than it seems.

The second time line will be set over a decade into the future with billions of people and animals are infected with the “T-virus.”

The Capcom first debuted the survival horror game in 1996 and it has become one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time.
