According to Deadline, the live-action series will follow Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup through their 20s. Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier will write for the show.

In the live-action series, the trio will be "disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting."
The new series is in development at the CW, the network that also developed "Riverdale."

In the original show, the pint-sized heroines were accidentally created by Professor Utonium by combining sugar, spice, and everything nice with the mysterious Chemical X.

Created by Craig McCracken, the "Powerpuff Girls" originally aired on Cartoon Network from 1998 to 2005 but received a reboot in 2016, airing its last episode in 2019.
