CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – A total of 330 new police recruits took their oath on Monday, August 2, at the headquarters of Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13).

The new police recruits took their oath before the PRO 13 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr.
The rookie cops were composed of 277 males and 53 females, who hurdled thorough examination and screening for the 2020 second cycle Patrolman/Patrolwoman Regular Recruitment Program.
Due to the threats of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), their families, relatives and friends just witnessed the oath taking via live streaming on Facebook.
Also during the ceremony, members of the Regional Screening Committee were accorded with plaques of appreciation for their efforts in efficiently supervising the selection process.
After oathtaking, the recruits were immediately brought to the Regional Training Center 13 in Surigao City to undergo six months Public Safety Basic Recruit Course.
They will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,668, aside from other allowances while undergoing the training.
In his message, Esquivel challenged the new recruits to be true to the noble calling of serving God, country and family.
"Police officers brought their name by the time they joined the uniformed service. Thus, always guard your name and protect your badge which represents the law. It is not always about bravery but knowledge to enforce the law," the region’s top cop added.
Last July 1, 2020, a total of 200 new police officers took their oath after they passed the strict screening process under the 2020 1st cycle Patrolman/Patrolwoman recruitment program.
