Restaurant owner tests positive for COVID-19 after being exposed to infected customer

DAVAO CITY - A 28-year-old woman in Valencia City, Bukidnon province became the 41st confirmed case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the city after getting exposed to a customer who dined in their family-owned restaurant.

In a statement on Sunday morning, the City Government of Valencia said the patient from Barangay Bagontaas was exposed to a customer, who was from Manolo Fortich town, on August 13. The customer only tested positive for COVID-19 on August 17. Valencia City currently has 10 active cases.

The City Government said the woman and those in close-contact with the customer voluntarily submitted themselves to the City's Isolation Facility on the same day for evaluation and monitoring.

"Of those in close contact with the customer, only the patient tested positive for COVID-19," the City Government said.

It said City Mayor Azucena Huervas will issue an order "placing the patient's residential compound and family-owned restaurant under localized lockdown and focused containment."
