The local stock market rose again yesterday after Monday’s pause as investors cheered the easing of quarantine measures in the National Capital Region.
The Philippine Stock Exchnge (PSEi) gained 87.67 points, or 1.44 percent, to close at 6,156.45 as share prices rose across the board.
Volume was still low though at 9.76 billion shares worth P5.96 billion as gainers outpaced losers 117 to 71 with 43 unchanged.
“The PSEi benchmark climbed further as sentiment was boosted by the country transitioning back to GCQ and despite a congressional stalemate over fresh stimulus to help Americans and businesses hurt by the coronavirus pandemic,” said Regina Capital Development Corporation Managing Director Luis Limlingan.(
