Vice President Leni Robredo may have a lot on her plate with her coronavirus response efforts, but she will always keep her late husband’s memories in her heart.

Robredo once said she have had enough love from Jesse to last her a lifetime.

On Tuesday, Robredo will commemorate her husband’s 8th death anniversary with the launch of an online learning platform for public and private sector leaders.

Jesse, a former Interior sectary and longtime Naga mayor, died in a plane crash off Masbate on August 18, 2012. He left behind his wife and their three daughters—Aika, Tricia, and Jillian.

The Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, a group named after the vice president’s late husband, and Kaya Natin Movement, in which Jesse was a member, organized the commemoration activities.

Harvey Keh, co-founder of the JMRF, said the Vice-President will deliver the keynote address at the launch Tuesday afternoon that will be aired live on the group’s Facebook page.

”This coming August 18, Tuesday, we will be commemorating the 8th Death Anniversary of Sec. Jesse Robredo and as part of our commemoration activities on that day, we will be launching the Jesse Robredo Institute for Leadership and Good Governance, a fully online learning platform that will offer courses and programs for public and private sector leaders,” he said in a post.

Before the launch, the Robredo sisters are also expected to give tribute to their late father and remember his legacy.

Keh, who is also a lead convenor of Kaya Natin, said Jesse’s daughters will ”share their important learnings and life lessons from their father.”

All four Robredo women wear their identical gold pendants, with Jesse’s ashes resting on their hearts. To this day, every time something happens to their family, they will always remember Jesse.
