Members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation's (PhilHealth) executive committee (Execom) will also file a leave of absence today, August 17, to give way to the investigations on the alleged corruption in the agency.

In an interview with DZMM Teleradyo, PhilHealth spokesperson Dr. Shirley Domingo said that aside from the six regional vice presidents of the agency, its execom members will also file a leave of absence today.
“Actually di lang anim , pati mga execs (executives) namin nag-leave din ‘yon (Actually, it’s not only the six , even our executives will be on leave),” she said.
“The execom members will file their leave today. Today kasi may (there will be a) hearing tayo sa (in the) Congress, they agreed to also file their leave,” she added.
Domingo assured that the filing of leaves of its officials will have no effect in the operations of the agency.
“Meron namang next in line na mag ta-take over (There is someone next in line to take over ,” she said.
Earlier, PhilHealth’s regional vice presidents Paolo Johann Perez, Atty. Valerie Anne Hollero, Datu Masiding Alonto Jr., Atty. Khaliquzzman Macabato, Dennis Adre, and William Chavez, “voluntarily” filed a leave of absence effective today, August 17.
According to Domingo, the leave of absence will only be for five days.
She assured PhilHealth members that they will not be directly affected by the suspension of the agency’s Interim Reimbursement Mechanisms (IRM).
“The direct effect is on the hospitals may (which have) problems financially,” she said, adding that members will still get their benefits on time.
