Dialysis patient dies of COVID-19 in Cabanatuan

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija (PNA) – This city has registered its third coronavirus disease (COVID-19)-related death after a 78-year-old dialysis patient succumbed to the disease on Friday.

The woman, who came from a posh village in Barangay Sta. Arcadia here, was confirmed to be COVID-19-positive on August 12 after undergoing a swab test on August 9, the City Information and Tourism Office (CITO) reported.

The patient experienced fever, cough, and difficulty of breathing, and had a history of travel, the office said.

Meanwhile, the city also reported four new infections – a nurse, a sales agent, and two teenagers.

The 30-year-old female nurse and 31-year-old male sales agent both came from Bukang Liwayway, Barangay Daan Sarile here, and are under strict home quarantine, the CITO said.

The teenagers, a 13-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old boy, both came from Purok 6, Barangay MS Garcia, and are in a quarantine facility.

The city now has 123 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 76 of which have recovered, 44 are active, and three have died.

The city government has reiterated its call to the public to always practice minimum public health standards to contain the spread of the deadly disease.
