The actor, YouTuber, and filmmaker succumbed to his disease
YouTube (YT) star Emman Nimedez lost his battle against acute myeloid leukemia, as he passed away earlier today, Aug. 16., his girlfriend Peachy Santos confirmed on a Facebook post.
"Our beloved Emman Nimedez joined our Creator at 1:00am today, August 16, 2020, Sunday. He was with his family during the time of his passing at St. Luke's Medical Center - Quezon City," wrote Peachy, adding, "Our family is thankful to everyone who offered prayers and showed support.”
Emman was brought to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Aug. 14, Friday, when he experienced blood complications and kidney failure. He was in critical condition. It was also reported that he tested negative for Covid-19.
The YouTuber announced that he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia May of this year.
He was admitted to a hospital for awhile, but was soon discharged and believed to be on his way to recovery late June.
“Ito na ‘yong pinakamatindi na laban na kakaharapin ko at sinasabi ko sa inyo ngayon, lahat ginagawa ko para manatiling matibay, maging handa at higit sa lahat, maging malakas kasi kailangan eh, (This is the toughest battle I have had to face, and I’m telling you guys that I am doing everything I can to be firm, to be prepared for anything, and most of all, to be strong, because that is what's necessary)” Emman said in a video detailing his disease.
“Hayaan niyo lang akong isama kayo dito sa laban na ito. Para maipakita na rin sa inyo na lahat ng ibabato sa ating hamon, lahat ng ibabato sa ating pagsubok, kakayanin, basta diretso lang ang tingin natin sa buhay at tsaka positibo tayo, (Allow me to bring you with me in this battle. So we can show to everyone that whatever challenges we face, we can bear, as long as we keep looking forward and stay positive),” the content creator added.
“Funeral details will be announced in the next days. We hope everyone will respect the family's privacy to mourn the passing of Emman. Thank you," Peachy explains.
Emman began creating YouTube videos in 2011. It was only three years ago when he rose to popularity because of his parody videos of Korean dramas going viral online. The last video the young YouTuber’s was able to produce was a music video of his Uuwian.
Emman will be missed by his family and friends, as well as all of his 2.19 million subscribers on the popular video sharing site.
