2 health workers among 10 new COVID-19 cases in Soccsksargen
COTABATO CITY (PNA) – Two staff members of a government hospital here were among the 10 latest cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Soccsksargen, raising the region’s total tally to 349.
In its bulletin on Friday, the Department of Health (DOH) Region 12 (Soccsksargen) also reported that four patients have recovered, increasing the total number of recoveries to 220 for a recovery rate of 63 percent.
Four have died of the disease, the department added.
Of the 10 new infections, two were female nurses of the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) in Cotabato City, aged 49 and 44, who were exposed to COVID-19 patients confined at the hospital.
Four others were teachers from Sultan Kudarat province. They were exposed to another teacher who died of the disease on Tuesday.
The provinces of South Cotabato and North Cotabato have one new patient each, while Sarangani had two.
Cotabato City still has the lowest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region at 32, with only four active cases who were all CRMC workers.
South Cotabato remained on top with 82 confirmed cases and 45 recoveries.
The DOH-12 said of the four patients who have just recovered from the disease, three were from Sultan Kudarat and one was from South Cotabato.
