'Jr. Demonyo,' MPD's top most wanted, shot dead in Bulacan


CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan -- The Manila Police District's (MPD) most wanted person and the number one hitman of the Balong Drug Group operating in Manila was shot dead in a joint manhunt operation conducted by several law enforcement agencies in Sitio Bacood, Brgy Tambubong, San Rafael on Wednesday night (Aug. 12).

Bulacan police director Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe identified the slain suspect as Leopoldo Dumdumaya Jr. alias "Jr. Demonyo," who was taken down by the personnel of the District Intelligence Division-District Police Intelligence Operations Unit (DID-DPIOU),  MDIT-Regional Intelligence Unit-National Capital Region (MDIT-RIU-NCR), Technical Services Division Intelligence Group (TSD IG), Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), San Rafael Municipal Police Station (MPS), and Bulacan Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit. 

Based on the report of San Rafael police chief Lt. Col. Laurente Acquiot, "Jr. Demonyo" engaged the operating police officers in a firefight. The law enforcers were serving his warrant of arrest for two counts of murder issued by Judge Jean Marie A. Bacorro-Villena, Presiding Judge, RTC Br 28, Manila.

The operating law enforcers were prompted to fire back, resulting in Jr. Demonyo's death, while Darlene Manapsal, his live-in partner, and Darren Manapsal, Darlene's brother, were arrested for possession of  "shabu" (crystal methamphetamine).

Seized from the suspects were a .45-caliber pistol as well as four medium and one small plastic sachets of shabu with an estimated weight of more or less five grams. 

According to Bulacan police, Dumdumaya Jr. was not only listed as the Top 1 Most Wanted of MPD, he was also included on the list of members of drug groups operating in Manila. He was also said to be responsible for a series of killings, numbering among his victims a barangay kagawad and two MPD police officers.
