COVID-19 survivor Michael V pays tribute to frontliners with 'fan art'

Comedy actor Michael V or “Bitoy” has recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“Sa ngayon tapos na ang quarantine ko and masasabi kong okay na, nakarecover na ako (So far my quarantine is over and I can say okay that I have recovered from ),” he said on his YouTube channel.

Bitoy thanked people who offered prayers for his recovery and those who sent him fan art while battling the virus.

The actor, himself, made a fan art in tribute to pandemic frontliners.

“I made sure na mailalagay lahat ng detalye na tumatak sa isip ko, ‘yung tagaktak ng pawis nila paghubad ng PPE, ‘yung pangungulubot ng mga kamay dahil sa ilang patong na gloves, ‘yung marka na iniwan ng maghapon na pagsusuot ng face mask,” he said.

(I made sure to put all the details that stuck in my mind, the sweat dripping from their PPE , the wrinkling of their hands due wearing layers of gloves, the mark left by wearing face mask all day)

Bitoy asked the public to support frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.

“Kahit po mga superheroes, at one point, natatalo sa mga kalaban. Ang mga medical frontliners po natin ay hindi superheroes. Wala po silang superpowers. Kaya kung puwede lang po sana huwag natin silang hayaang matalo. Tulungan po natin sila,” he added.

(Even superheroes, at one point, lose to their opponents. Our medical frontliners are not superheroes. They have no superpowers. So if only we could not let them lose. Let's help them.)

Last month, Bitoy tested positive for COVID-19. He experienced weird sensation in his nasal area and even lost his sense of smell.

Several personalities like Christopher de Leon, Iza Calzado, Sylvia Sanchez, and journalist Howie Severino also survived COVID-19.
