Cebu City's DMDP offers free online courses on livelihood skills training

CEBU CITY—The Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP), based on the city’s goal to revive the economy, has started its free online courses that can assist the small entrepreneur’s sector, its workers and Cebu City residents to begin with their livelihood development amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.

DMDP officer-in-charge Shiela May Daluz said that the online courses included those on food and beverage services, culinary, housekeeping, plumbing, computer system servicing, computer literacy, static web design, and wellness massage.

The selection of these free online courses was borne out of the urgent need for livelihood skills training even before COVID-19.

The free online training course are intended to provide additional livelihood and entrepreneurial skills to city residents, especially those whose jobs have been affected by COVID-19, returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.

DMDP is urging those who are interested to enroll in any of the online courses to visit the DMDP Facebook page, and to coordinate with its personnel and staff.
