San Juan City honor students to receive cash incentives

Honor students from public schools in San Juan City will receive cash incentives of up to P10,000 from the local government as a way of recognizing their dedication and hard work.

Mayor Francis Zamora recently signed Ordinance No. 45 granting cash incentives to public school students who graduated with honors this year.

Public school students in Grade 12 with a general average of 98 to 100 percent will receive P10,000 each, while students in Grade 6 and 10 with the same grade average will receive P5,000.

Grade 12 students with a general average of 95 to 97 percent will each receive P7,000 cash incentive from the local government, while Grade 6 and 10 students with the same grade average will receive P3,000 each.

On the other hand, Grade 12 students with an average of 90 to 94 percent will receive P5,000 each, while Grade 6 and 10 students with the same average will receive P2,000 cash incentive.

Because of the pandemic, the graduation rites of students across different levels were cancelled.

The Department of Education said the August 24 opening of classes using the blended learning format will push through despite opposition from some teachers’ groups.
