16-day-old baby, 8 others beat COVID-19 in Bataan


BALANGA CITY, Bataan (PNA) – Nine patients, including an infant, were added to the list of those who have beaten coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in this province, bringing the number of total recoveries to 292.

Governor Albert Garcia said on Sunday that the baby boy from Abucay town was just 16 days old.

The other recovered patients were three from Dinalupihan, two from Limay, and one each from Mariveles, Orani and Balanga City.

On the other hand, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 489 after nine tested positive for the dreaded virus.

Garcia, citing the report of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) as of Saturday night, said contact tracing showed that seven of the nine new cases had close contact with those earlier found positive of the virus.

Four came from Mariveles, two from Dinalupihan and one from Samal. The other two cases are also from Mariveles.

The number of active cases is 184 while the number of deaths remains at 13.

Of the 9,335 who have undertaken the virus test, 489 had positive results, 8,353 turned negative while 493 are still waiting for the results.
