Over 11.2 million beneficiaries have received their second tranche of cash emergency subsidies under the national government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Monday (August 10).
The DSWD said it already covered around 11,263, 716 SAP 2 beneficiaries, distributing more than P73 billion worth of cash subsidies nationwide.
“Batay sa datos kahapon (Based on the data yesterday), ika-9 ng Agosto (9th of August), umabot na sa P73 bilyon ang naipamahagi ng DSWD sa higit 11.26 milyon na pamilyang benepisyaryo ng SAP (The DSWD has distributed P73 billion cash aid to over 11.26 million family-beneficiaries of SAP) ,” it said in a Facebook post.
The number of served beneficiaries is almost 80 percent of the 14.1 million targeted beneficiaries for the second tranche. The SAP 2 aid distributed to beneficiaries totalled P72,984,587,950.
Of the 11.2 million SAP 2 recipients who got their subsidy, 5.5 million are low-income, and non-beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps); 1.3 million are 4Ps families; 3 million are “waitlisted”, low-income, and non-4Ps households nationwide; and 1 million are “waitlisted” beneficiaries from the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) areas.
The DSWD assured the public that the digital and manual payouts continue to cover the less than 3 million unserved SAP beneficiaries.
"The distribution of emergency subsidy continues to beneficiaries of SAP, including “waitlisted” or additional families,” it said.
The DSWD’s clean list of beneficiaries includes 1.3 million 4Ps beneficiaries in ECQ areas; 7.2 non-4Ps in ECQ areas from May 1 to 15; 3.2 million “waitlisted” beneficiaries who did not receive the first tranche; and the 2.1 million “waitlisted” beneficiaries in ECQ areas from May 1 to 15.
The 11 areas covered by SAP 2 are Region III (Central Luzon) , except Aurora province, the NCR; Region IV-A (CALABARZON) ; Benguet; Pangasinan; Iloilo; Cebu Province; Bacolod City; Davao City, Albay province and Zamboanga City.
The DSWD is eyeing to complete the digital and manual payouts of the second tranche of SAP 2 subsidies by August 15.
