The Muntinlupa City government congratulated Teresita Ssen "Winwyn" Marquez for winning first runner-up at the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 pageant held on May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Marquez represented Muntinlupa in the beauty pageant.

Besides winning first runner-up, Marquez won eight special awards. These were Miss Aqua Boracay, Miss Soen, Miss Jell Life, Miss Clinique De Paris, Miss Wuling, Miss Wendy’s, Miss Zion and Miss Mags (Face of Mags).

“We are proud of you! Congratulations to Ms. Teresita Ssen "Winwyn" Marquez, our very own Muntinlupa representative, for her outstanding performance in Miss Universe Philippines 2025!” the Muntinlupa City government posted on Facebook.

It added, “Ms. Winwyn showcased grace, intelligence, and unwavering determination, earning multiple awards and proving that Muntinlupa shines on the national stage! Your journey inspires many, and we are beyond proud of your achievements! Muntinlupa celebrates with you!”

Following her win, Marquez posted on Instagram about her journey.

She said, “Everything about this journey was so unexpected..a beautiful surprise I never thought would be mine.”.

“There were days I felt strong, and days when nerves and doubts hit me hard. And as a mom, people expect us to always be tough but I’ve learned that it’s just as important to be kind to ourselves, too,” she said.

Marquez said, “This was never just about a crown for me.. I’ve always hoped to show that becoming a mom doesn’t mean your dreams have to stop. It can be the beginning of something new, something even more meaningful. I took the crown of courage.. of standing tall and speaking my truth. showing that you can be both devoted and driven..that you can live boldy, love deeply and chase your dreams no matter the season you’re in. That, for me, is already a victory.”

“Who would’ve thought I’d be saying this… Miss Universe Philippines 2025 1st Runner-Up? Feels like a dream already. To everyone who supported me, believed in me, and stayed with me through this..Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope I made you proud. Pilipinas, maraming maraming salamat and to the Universe.. Thank you for making this happen,” she said.

Last February, Marquez was a guest at the flag-raising ceremony at the Muntinlupa City hall and said she was proud to represent the city at the pageant.

“Excited po akong i-represent ang Emerald City ng Pilipinas–a place for hope and change. Excited po akong i-share ang sincerity and warmth ng Muntinlupeño. Muntinlupa, let's #WYNtheUNIVERSE (I am excited to represent the Emerald City of the Philippines–a place for hope and change. I am excited to share the sincerity and warmth of Muntinlupeño.
