Devotees will celebrate Monday (August 10) the feast day of Our Lady of Buen Suceso (Good Events), the revered patroness of the city of Paranaque.

A special mass will be streamed on the Facebook page of the St. Andrews Cathedral at 7 a.m. The Diocese of Paranaque will not hold public masses until August 18.

Novena masses in commemoration of the 395th anniversary of the enthronement of the image of Our Lady of Buen Suceso were held from August 1 to 9.

The venerated image was enthroned at the St. Andrew’s Cathedral in 1625.

Devotion to Our Lady of Buen Suceso is actively being promoted by the diocese. Perpetual novena to Our Lady is held every Saturday at 6 a.m., 12 noon, and at 6 p.m. at the cathedral. Masses for overseas Filipino workers and seafarers are held every second Saturday of the month, families in crisis every third Saturday, and the youth every fourth Saturday of the month.

The miraculous image was canonically crowned as the patroness of the City of Paranaque on September 8, 2000.
