BUTUAN CITY – Employees of the provincial government of Agusan del Norte on Wednesday received free flu vaccine for better health protection amidst the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Agusan del Norte Gov. Dale Corvera initiated the activity to protect the workers of government from any illnesses, particularly protecting them from the deadly virus.
“They also played a vital role and our employees and workers have been continuously been rendering services despite the threat of COVID-19,” the provincial chief executive said.
“I want to ensure their safety and protection against this virus, and other health risks,” Corvera added.
Currently, Agusan del Norte is under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) as declared by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The provincial government implemented strict health protocols inside the premises of the provincial capitol here.
The regional office of Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD Caraga) said that Agusan del Norte was among the areas in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region with the highest recovery rate from COVID-19.
To date, Agusan del Norte has 55 COVID-19 cases with 35 recoveries and zero death.
