In a separate statement issued on the same day, the Provincial Government said a female employee tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing an RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test on Monday, August 3.

It said the 42-year-old employee was a resident of Barangay Casisa in Malaybalay City.

As of press time, the Department of Health Region 10 has yet to release the results of her second swab test.

The provincial government added that they have initiated contact tracing, and have advised the family and office colleagues of the patient to undergo home quarantine.

Based on the initial report, the female employee was asymptomatic, and has no history of travel or exposure to other individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.

The provincial government also said that all offices in the Provincial Capitol have been decontaminated. It added that last Tuesday, August 4, Zubiri has ordered department heads to have all 3,682 employees undergo swab within this week.
