DAVAO CITY - The provincial government of Bukidnon on Thursday suspended the work at the Provincial Capitol after a government employee tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Provincial Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri issued Memorandum No. 591 series of 2020 to all provincial government employees to inform them that work was being suspended “until further notice.”
In a separate statement issued on the same day, the Provincial Government said a female employee tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing an RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test on Monday, August 3.
It said the 42-year-old employee was a resident of Barangay Casisa in Malaybalay City.
“Ang maong babae gidala gidayon sa Northern Mindanao Wellness and Reintegration Center o NMWRC sa Barangay Casisang, Malaybalay City og gipahigayon ang dugang eksaminasyon lakip na niini ang subling pag swab test og pag pahilayo kaniya sa kadaghanan (She was immediately sent to the NMWRC in Barangay Casisang where she is isolation and she underwent further tests including a repeat swab test),” it said.
As of press time, the Department of Health Region 10 has yet to release the results of her second swab test.
The provincial government added that they have initiated contact tracing, and have advised the family and office colleagues of the patient to undergo home quarantine.
Based on the initial report, the female employee was asymptomatic, and has no history of travel or exposure to other individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.
The provincial government also said that all offices in the Provincial Capitol have been decontaminated. It added that last Tuesday, August 4, Zubiri has ordered department heads to have all 3,682 employees undergo swab within this week.
