Although the country reverted to more strict lockdown till August 18, Philippine Airlines (PAL) continues to operate 40 international flights weekly from Manila, preserving the only remaining nonstop routes between the Philippines and the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Vietnam.

For North America, the flag carrier maintains flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Honolulu, Vancouver and Toronto, as well as to Guam.

PAL’s Japan network serves Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Tokyo via both Narita and Haneda airports, and includes a bi-weekly service from Cebu to Tokyo Narita.

PAL offers regular flights to the Middle East (Dubai, Riyadh, Doha and Dammam) as well as to London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.

The flag carrier also serves Sydney and Bangkok occasionally, although its flights are limited under ongoing travel restrictions and quarantine facility limitations  in Australian airports.

PAL is the only airline that links the Philippines to four continents.

Under Modified Enhanced Community Quaratine (MECQ) restrictions, domestic flights to and from Manila are suspended until August 18.

International flights are allowed on a limited basis, subject to strict government guidelines in line with the testing and quarantine capacity at the gateway airport.

Already, the flag carrier has set up a One-Stop-Shop center at NAIA Terminal 2 that augments the national government’s existing facilities to conduct mandatory RT PCR swab testing for arriving passengers.

PAL remains active in mounting all-cargo flights to transport essential goods to and from different parts of the globe during the pandemic.

Its specially arranged repatriation flights continue to bring home stranded OFWs and other Overseas Filipinos from all over the world, including a recent services from Dhaka, Bangladesh that repatriated a total of 160 people, mainly Overseas Filipinos, seafarers and Bangladeshis, on the inbound and
