P5.7-million marijuana plants burned in Kalinga, Mt. Province


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – A total of P5.7-million worth of marijuana plants was uprooted and burned during the marijuana eradication in Sadanga, Mt. Province, and Tinglayan, Kalinga, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera, reported.

PRO-Cordillera Director Brig. Gen. R’win Pagkalinawan said four marijuana plantation sites were discovered by joint personnel of the Mt. Province Provincial Police Office. Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Sitio Litafang, Saclit, Sadanga, Mt Province on Thursday.

The operating troops discovered 6,250 seedlings worth P250,000 at the first site, a total of 4,000 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMP) worth P800,000 at the second site, 2,500 FGMP worth P500,000 in the third site, and 5,000 FGMP worth P1 million in the fourth site for a total value of P2.55 million.

Pagkalinawan said, three marijuana plantation sites was destroyed in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan,Kalinga, with a land area of 1,600 sqm meter and planted with 16,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P3.2 million.
