Binangonan LGU offers free medicines, delivery to senior citizens, PWDs, indigents


BINANGONAN, Rizal- Through its "Binangonan E-Botika," the local government is offering free generic medicines and their free delivery to senior citizens who not allowed out of their homes under quarantine as they are among the sectors identified as vulnerable to coronavirus disease.

Persons with disability (PWDs) and indigent persons are also beneficiaries of the program, which will be implemented for the duration of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) declared by President Duterte to last from Aug. 4 to 18.

In order to get their free medicines delivered, the person requesting should send a message to the Chat Support Team on the Binangonan E-Botika Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BinangonanEBotika/) indicating the medicines they need, together with a photo of the latest doctor’s prescription showing the patient's name and the date of the prescription.

The program is open for requests for delivery of the generic medicines between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday to Thursday, while delivery days are from Tuesday to Friday.

Most of the medicines that are available are maintenance medicines for high blood pressure and diabetes for adults.

The town is enforcing a 24-hour curfew for senior citizens and those below 21 years old, and and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew for non-authorized persons outside residence (APOR).
