Stepped up anti-corruption drive in last 2 years of Duterte admin

The anti-corruption campaign will be intensified in the last two years of the Duterte administration.

Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Greco Belgica said the commission will step up the cleanup drive in government agencies, investigate, and file charges against public servants implicated in corrupt practices.

"Our standing order is to do your job. Investigate and file charges. Bring evidence," Belgica said Thursday about President Duterte's directive.

"We will spare no one. We will investigate, file charges, and expose anyone who will get into corruption more than ever in the last two years remaining,” he said. 

Belgica  cautioned government officials to shun corruption or else risk prosecution and dismissal from service.

"We will use these times left to us to clean up all agency we can clean up. Regardless of will get involved," he said.

Belgica appealed to the public to send corruption complaints, including those connected with the Social Amelioration Program and other coronavirus-related programs, to the PACC, assuring them of their anonymity.

"We call on the people to help us fight corruption by giving us good reports and help us gather evidence. We will protect you and shall not reveal your names in public," he said.

He said people may send the complaints through the PACC hotline at 0906-6927324, email address  [email protected], and its social media accounts.
