The Pasay City government has announced that the City Health Office (CHO) recorded 46 out of 210 barangays in the city as having zero cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano said at the core of theses 46 coronavirus-free areas are the so-called “lucky 13 barangays” which have not had even a single COVID-19 case since the beginning of the pandemic.
Rubiano said a batch of 33 other barangays were declared COVID-19 free upon their patients’ recovery leading up to Aug. 5.
She said the 46 barangays free from COVID-19 were the:
- "Lucky 13" barangays: 12, 25, 47, 74, 78, 103, 112, 114, 140, 141, 149, 150, and 151
- Newly added barangays: 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 16, 20, 21, 28, 33, 53, 56, 64, 70, 71, 73, 79, 83, 84, 87, 90, 93, 95, 101, 106,142, 154, 157, 163, 166, 168, 180, and 195.
“This is indeed a great development and a major boost to the morale of our people especially the LGU personnel, health workers, barangay officials, and everyone who has done his/her part to achieve this, “ Rubiano said.
The mayor ascribed the development to the strict implementation of health and safety protocols, stringent contact tracing and monitoring by the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit, and the cooperation and practice of discipline by the people themselves in following the city's guidelines.
