Draws, lotto sales to resume in GCQ, MGCQ areas -- PCSO

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Thursday announced that the draws and selling of tickets of lotto jackpot-bearing games will resume in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

In a public advisory posted on its official Facebook page, PCSO announced that effective August 7, Friday, selling of tickets and draws for lotto jackpot bearing games such as Lotto 6/42, Mega Lotto 6/46, Super Lotto 6/49, Grand Lotto 6/55 and Ultra lotto 6/58 will resume GCQ and MGCQ areas.

PCSO noted that the selling period of tickets is from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm while the conduct of the draw is at 9:00 pm. However, PCSO noted that Small Town Lottery (STL)  games “have not yet resumed.”

The PCSO reminded that health protocols mandated by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) such as physical distancing and the wearing of face masks as cited in Lotto Circular No. 2020-004 should be strictly observed.

Meanwhile, PCSO clarified that all digit games will remain suspended in areas under the ECQ and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine.

On August 3, PCSO announced that all lotto and digit games nationwide have been suspended after Metro Manila and other nearby provinces were placed under MECQ.

In view of the declaration by President Duterte placing the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Laguna under MECQ from August 4 to August 18, the PCSO suspended its games including Lotto, Instant Sweepstakes, and Keno since daily draws are conducted at its Main Office located in Mandaluyong City.

The suspension of gaming operations included ticket selling, ticket validation, prize claiming and the conduct of daily draws.

On July 22, PCSO General Manager Royina Garma announced that its operations including Lotto games, Instant Sweepstakes and Online Keno will resume.

Lotto games resumed on August 4 while the Instant Sweepstakes and Online Keno resumed on July 20 and July 28, respectively. Lotto ticket prices were also rolled back to P20.
