Senator Manuel ‘’Lito’’ M. Lapid Wednesday expressed his condolences to the family of former Senator Eddie Ilarde who passed away Tuesday. Ilarde was 85.
Lapid considers Ilarde as a friend and a colleague in the entertainment industry.
‘’Gayunpaman, masayang balikan ang alaala ng isang Eddie Ilarde na nagmula sa payak at simpleng pamumuhay. Kilala natin si Eddie bilang isang masipag na tao na naglingkod sa bayan bllang isang Councilor, Congressman at naging Senador din,’’ he said. (We happily remember Ilarde from his simple life. We know Eddie as a hard-working person who served the country as a councilor, congressman and later as a senator.).
‘’Maraming salamat sa iyong serbisyo sa bayan at pagkakaibigan, Eddie. Nawa’y marami ring maantig na puso sa langit gamit ang iyong mala-anghel na boses. Paalam, kaibigan,’’ he added.
