Dubai's Burj Khalifa lights up in solidarity after Beirut explosion

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, world’s tallest building, lights up in solidarity of the devastating explosion in Beirut, Lebanon on Tuesday.

In a Twitter post, the Burj Khalifa paid tribute to those who were killed and injured in the explosion.

“#BurjKhalifa lights up in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in #Lebanon,” the post read.

The tallest structure was illuminated with the colors of Lebanon’s flag: red, white, and green.

“Oh God, give the people of Lebanon patience and solace," it added.

Two enormous explosions devastated Beirut’s port leaving at least 73 people dead and thousands injured on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Hassan Diab said that 2,750 tonnes of the agricultural fertiliser ammonium nitrate that had been stored for years in a portside warehouse had blown up, sparking “a disaster in every sense of the word”. (With a report from Agence France-Presse)
