3 Koreans in Interpol wanted list nabbed

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested three South Koreans who are reportedly wanted in their country for online loan fraud.

CIDG director Maj. Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel identified the suspects as Lim Yeongjun, Sim Dong Woo, Kwon Hyeoksoo.

“They are the subjects of International Police Red Notices for fraud,” said Coronel, adding that it was the Seoul Central District Court which issued the arrest warrant.

The serving of the arrest warrant from the Interpol was done at a police headquarters in Taguig City where the three Koreans are detained.

“They are members of the Korean Voice Phishing Criminal Group engaged in online loan fraud operating in the Philippines and in Korea,” said Coronel.

The three Koreans, according to Coronel, are facing 10 years imprisonment in Korea.
