10 more Filipinos abroad added to list of COVID-19 victims


Ten new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and 28 new recoveries among Filipinos abroad were recorded in the latest tally received by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. 
 
The new confirmed cases were monitored in Asia and the Pacific and Europe while the new recoveries were from the Asia Pacific region.  
 
No new reports on fatalities were received by the DFA through its Foreign Service Posts.
 
As of today, the total number of confirmed cases among overseas Filipinos is 9,607. Of the total, 5,681 have recovered, 3,233 are live cases and 693 have died of COVID-19 infection. 
 
The Middle East/Africa remains the region with the biggest number of Filipinos with Covid infection at 6,795 followed by Europe with 1,116, Asia and the Pacific with 934, and the Americas with 762. 
 
“As we continue to battle against this pandemic, the DFA rallies the Filipinos here and abroad to cooperate and responsibly adhere to precautionary measures of the local health authorities of the respective countries in which they reside,” it said.
