In an advisory, MRT-3 said it will resume operations once the National Capital Region (NCR) reverts back to the general community quarantine (GCQ) status.

The management advised commuters to stay in their homes and avoid going out as stricter security will be imposed in different areas.

President Duterte on Sunday night placed Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal provinces under MECQ upon the recommendation of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

The government was earlier urged by the medical community to place the NCR under the more restrictive enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). (With a report from Genalyn Kabiling)
