The Civil Service Commission (CSC) said Monday that its offices in areas covered by President Duterte's announcement of a reversion to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) would enforce a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement.
"All Offices in the CSC Central Office and all CSC Regional and Field Offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the Provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan shall strictly observe work from home arrangement during said period," the CSC said in a statement.
On Sunday, August 2, 2020, the President approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to place the NCR, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Bulacan under an MECQ from August 4 to18. An MECQ is a step above the current General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
"A skeletal workforce may be allowed to report for work in order to deliver necessary services such as processing of payroll, administration of employee welfare and benefits, and other critical services," the CSC statement read.
"Clients are encouraged to use virtual modes of communication for their concerns and queries, such as but not limited to mobile hotline, email, and official social media platforms," it added.
The central office in Batasan Hills, Quezon City has been closed for the entire latter half of July due to the continuous disinfection of its buildings as a protection against COVID-19.
The CSC had earlier reported that four of its employees contracted the deadly disease.Â
