CLOY star Son Ye-jin gets closer to Filipino fans

The Crash Landing on You star, who joins Hyun Bin as the newest endorser of Smart, gives career tip to young Pinoys

This is not a drill! 

Crash Landing on You (CLOY) stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin have officially landed on Philippine shores as ambassadors of the local telco company Smart Communications.

Two months after the company surprised Filipinos by unveiling Hyun Bin as their ambassador, Ye-Jin has officially joined him in their newfound family here in the country. Captain Ri will no longer be lonely.

In a recent media conference, the company revealed its newest commercial. In it, the 38-year-old actress shows another side of her, looking fierce and beautiful as she rides a Ducati motorbike.

“Son Ye Jin’s appeal is undeniable among Filipinos who have been swept by the Korean wave, and we are thrilled to fulfill their wish. This is one way of supporting the Hallyu passion of our customers,” says Jane J. Basas, senior vice president, Smart.

With this out of the country endorsement, Ye-jin has expressed her happiness with the opportunity to be part of her Pinoy fans daily lives through the Smart Signature campaign.

“As an actress, I am always grateful for having a platform to entertain and touch the lives of others through my craft,” she says. “I thank Smart for giving me a way to specifically reach out to my Filipino fans and inspire them to make a mark in whatever path they have chosen. I wish to see you all soon.”

Throughout her career, the Korean superstar has numerous achievements under her belt, including 11 best actress awards. But when she was asked what career tips she can give to young people, the CLOY lead star humbly said that she didn’t see herself as a successful person.

“I’m not sure if I’ve already succeeded, but I think young people who have just started not only in acting but also in other fields are going to be scared and experience hardship, same as my experience,” she says. “But it helps that I’ve always set a goal. Even if the reality is not close to that goal. Just try your best to imagine yourself in that future and make the best out of everything. Then, think of it as a step closer to your dreams. Keep fighting.”

Ye-jin also said that she is looking forward to meeting her Filipino fans once the Covid-19 pandemic settles down. 

“I’m very happy about this endorsement. It’s just so sad that I could not come to see all the fans in person but I’m always very thankful and happy to be able to meet them in this way,” she adds.

According to Smart executives, Hyun Bin and So Ye-jin have a year-long contract with the brand and that includes three events. With this information, fans may expect that these Korean superstars may visit the country soon.
