10 recoveries, 7 new cases recorded in Bataan


BALANGA CITY – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported Sunday night that Bataan registered 10 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of those who have beaten the dreaded disease to 261.

The PHO also reported that seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases were added to the list, bringing the total number of those infected to 420.

Governor Albert Garcia said on Monday that the new recoveries were one from this city, one from Morong, one from Hermosa, two from Limay, and five from Mariveles.

The governor said results of contact tracing showed that five of the new confirmed cases were in close contact with those earlier tested positive of COVID-19. Two came from Dinalupihan and three from this city.

The other new infections were one each from Dinalupihan and Mariveles.

The latest report showed there are 147 active cases while the number of deaths remains at 12.

The PHO said 8,143 have been tested COVID-19, of which 420 were positive, 7,508 were found negative and 215 were still waiting for the results.

Garcia went on to remind his constituents once again to strictly follow safety protocols to stop the spread of the virus.
