PHLPost warns vs fake postal IDs

The Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) has warned the public against fake postal identity cards (PID).

The PHLPost issued the warning after some entities are producing fake IDs that charge triple or more from its original fee.

It emphasized that the regular PID costs only P504 while the rush PID costs P650.

“Affiliated PHLPost agencies are authorized to use the Postal ID Online Verification System (POVS), a software that facilitates easy verification to address problems on the integrity of the card presented and issues concerning counterfeit cards,” the PHLPost said.

“Those caught using fake PIDs are liable in accordance with the law,” it added.

The PHLPost advised the public to visit post offices and its branches for application to ensure the PID is legitimate.
