Caritas Manila warns public vs scammers

Caritas Manila, the social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila, has warned the public against scammers who have been soliciting fees to qualify for financial assistance from the organization.

In a statement, Caritas Manila said they have received complaints about a membership fee being solicited by scammers from people to qualify for financial assistance worth P5,000 to P10,000 from the church organization.

“We have been receiving complaints that some people have been going around collecting membership fees to qualify for the alleged financial assistance from Caritas Manila. Please be informed that we are not collecting any membership fees and we are not providing financial assistance amounting to P5000 to P10000,” Caritas Manila said.

Caritas Manila is encouraging the public to inform their office immediately in case an individual approaches them to ask for money in the name of Caritas Manila.

Caritas Manila may be reached at 85620020 to 25 local 131. They may also send a private message to the Islas-Caritas Manila page or Caritas Islas Facebook account.
