PRO1 on lockdown after PNP applicants test positive for COVID-19
DAGUPAN CITY-----Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) director Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr has announced that he has placed the entire PRO1 on lockdown starting Thursday, July 30, to disinfect the camp's premises in San Fernando City, La Union.

The lockdown was announced to disinfect camp areas where the processing of police recruitment was being conducted. At least three applicants tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Definitely, the three applicants who tested positive for COVID-19 are disqualified for the ongoing recruitment, “ Azurin told the Manila Bulletin.
He also ordered the temporary suspension of the recruitment process.
“Presently, we are establishing the contact tracing of all the applicants starting July 23, 2020, including our PNP personnel from the PRS, medical as well as the observers from the National Police Commission,” Azurin said.
Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Luis V. Singson posted on Facebook that the COVID-19 positive PNP applicants are the following: 21-year-old male from barangay Ayusan Sur, Vigan City, asymptomatic ; 23-year-old male from barangay Paratong, Vigan City, asymptomatic; and a 22-year-old male from barangay Rugsuanan , Vigan City, all in the province of Ilocos Sur.
