The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Tuesday said it will recommend the re-opening internet cafes in areas under the general community quarantine (GCQ) but only for educational purposes.
DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez told DZMM Teleradyo that the re-opening of tutorial centers, and review centers will also be part of the DTI’s recommendations.
The DTI is also eyeing to move from Category 4 (Modified General Community Quarantine) to Category 3 (GCQ) establishments which offer personal grooming and aesthetic services, and pet grooming.
Lopez also backed the proposed drive-in cinemas.
Lopez said the re-opening of more establishments is part of the government’s efforts “to gradually reopen the economy.”
Meanwhile, Lopez assured that establishments that will not comply with their health standards will be "closed down to correct their deficiencies."
