Dagupan City — An ongoing construction of the Marauya-Dupitac-Calambeg-Estancia access road to sunflower and coffee plantations will benefit indigenous communities, in Piddig, Ilocos Norte.
This was the statement of Esperanza Tinaza, DPWH Regional Information Officer that the access road will be able to support agriculture-tourism aimed by the municipality as well as the province of Ilocos Norte.
The Sunflower Farm and Coffee Plantation have started to attract tourist and will definitely increase visitors once the road is completed.
The road will also help in the delivery of health and social services needed by the people of the municipality.
Likewise, improvement of economic activities such as delivery and trade of goods and services coming in and going out the locality is foreseen.
Tinaza said, the scope of work includes Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) with a length of 13.7305 kilometer (carriageway with 6.10 meter, 1.5 lineal meter shoulder on both sides and 0.230 meter thickness), earthworks, construction of Reinforced Concrete Pipe Culvert (RCPC), cross drainage including catch basins and headwalls, stone masonry slope protection, and brace wall, provision of road signage’s and pavement markings.
The Marauya-Dupitac-Calambeg-Estancia project has a total amount of Php 596.520 Million these includes the proposed funds of Php 115.000 Million, Php 110.000 Million and Php 220.000 Million for CY 2021, 2022 and 2023 respectively.
