The Best of June

Written by Kyla G. Amadora

The drastic changes in work and lifestyle brought by the pandemic has caused a sense of disquietude.  If it seems that the world is in standstill, always choose to move on.  Much like technology,  in spite of its many pitfalls, it persists to advance even further.  Listed below are last months' devices that made their mark to remind us that moving forward is the only way to go.

Vivo V19 Neo

Vivo’s latest flagship phone, the Vivo V19 Neo is said to be the V19’s younger sibling.  Just like any other sibling, they are very much alike and yet they are different. To start, Neo is relatively cheaper.  But very much like the V19, Neo also has that premium look with its 6.44-inch display.  For optimized gaming, it also has the Ultra Gaming Mode, a 48 MP Al Quad Camera, and a 32 MP front camera but with only a small single punch hole -- this makes the Neo less intrusive when playing your favorite games or videos. The V19 Neo is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, dual engine fast charging of 4500 mAh. If you are looking for a phone that could meet your budget, the Vivo V19 Neo should be in your list.

OPPO A92

The OPPO A92 is considered a new member of Oppo’s flagship smartphones. This classy midrange newbie flashes a 1080P Neo-display, a 48 MP Al Quad Camera/16MP front camera, 5000mAh battery and an 18W fast charging capability. A respite from the anxieties of the day, the night sky brings calmness and beauty.  With the OPPO A92 Ultra Night Mode 2.0, you'll be assured to capture the beauty of what darkness brings.   The A92 can best fit into a students’ hand, with its display of 6.5-inch, online classes and video conferencing has never been this perfect on a mobile phone.

Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro

POCO, a sub-brand of Xiaomi that is intended to produce flagship-class smartphones at a cheaper price, fulfills its commitment.  Xiaomi has indeed set the bar high for flagship smartphones with the launch of the new POCO F2 Pro.  It features a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED, 1080p touchscreen display, a 64MP main camera and a 20MP selfie camera.  Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and an operating system of MIUI 11, the POCO F2 Pro is visually pleasing for a mobile gamer.  In addition, the F2 Pro also features a Steady Video Mode perfect when filming on-the-go.

Acer ConceptD 3 Ezel

Although Acer has released a number of devices for each of their lines, the ConceptD 3 Ezel is certainly worth the attention; especially if one is a creator. The multi-purpose notebook features a 14- or 15.6-inch FHD PANTONE-Validated touchscreen display.   With Acer’s Active stylus, creativity goes to the next level.  The stylus features 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity which makes drawing seem flawless.  By using float mode, artists will surely find their ideal drawing angle. The Ezel is powered by 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-10750H or 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10300H processors, NVIDIA® Quadro® T1000 (ConceptD 3 Ezel Pro). Since the ConceptD 3 Ezel functions as both tablet and laptop, this can be a perfect portable device for both content creators and students.

Lenovo Thinkbook 15

Lenovo recently launched their new addition to the Thinkbook series that, as they say, everyone can count on -- the Lenovo Thinkbook 15. It features a 15-inch display that goes all the way down to 180 degrees.  Thinkbook 15 is equipped with a finger-print scanner on the power button, and a ThinkShutter that easily slides to physically close the device's webcam. It has a pre-installed Skype for the business and is powered by the Intel i7 10th Gen Processor, Windows 10 Pro Operating System, Dolby Atmos Speakers, and a Radeon 620 Graphics card. Lenovo’s Thinkbook 15 is not just for the business-minded, but also for the goal-oriented.

Huawei Matebook D13 & D14

Huawei has launched yet another rendition to the Mate Series -- the Huawei Matebook 13 and 14. The difference between the two lies in the dimensions, weight, and processor of the device. In terms of performance, MateBook D14 AMD Edition is powered by a 12mm AMD Ryzen 5 3500U or Ryzen 7 processor, followed by an AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. The hardware inside the MateBook 13 delivers modern performance with the new eighth Gen Intel middle i5-10210U/ i7-10510U processor. The D13 and 14 have similar features which includes a touch screen display, recessed camera and a fingerprint scanner for added security. Truly, Huawei sets the bar high for student-friendly devices.
