The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) said Tuesday (July 21) that its wellness clinic in Mandaluyong is now fully operational for minor surgeries, reproductive health, and family planning surgeries.

POPCOM Regional Director for the National Capital Region (NCR) Lydio Espanol said the move was made to better help residents of the region, as family planning services like minor surgeries, bilateral tubal ligation, no-scalpel vasectomy, and insertion and removal of implants and intrauterine devices (IUD) are now available at POPCOM Family Wellness Clinic (PFWC).
The health facility is also offering other reproductive health and family planning services such as provision of injectables and dispensation of pills and condoms.
POPCOM Executive Director and Undersecretary Juan Antonio Perez III said the demands for reproductive health and family planning services have increased in Metro Manila as lockdown measures start to ease.
Perez added that PFWC is closely collaborating with the Mandaluyong city government for any response needed relative to the proper handling of patients and clients, especially those found to have any symptoms similar to COVID-19.
Licensed by the Department of Health as an ambulatory surgical clinic and accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation for its members, PFWC is under the management and supervision of POPCOM's NCR regional office.
" is ready to provide services to Metro Manila-based patients and clients, and to those in surrounding areas as soon as quarantine protocols allow their transit," POPCOM said in a statement.
Patients may set their appointments by calling (02) 8531-6547 or 0998-865-2810. The clinic is open Mondays to Fridays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
