3 LSIs escape from quarantine facility in Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte

DAVAO CITY - The municipal government of Sto. Tomas in Davao del Norte alerted the public on Tuesday night after three individuals escaped the town's quarantine facility. 

In a statement, the local government unit said the escapees, two women and a man, were all locally stranded individuals (LSIs). 

It said the first escapee was a female LSI from Manila, who was a resident of Barangay New Katipunan, while the second came from Bulacan and was a resident in Barangay San Miguel. 

"Sources at the facility say both individuals had climbed over a wall to escape from the quarantine facility at the early hours on Tuesday night," it added. 

In its latest update, the municipal government said it also learned about the escape of the another male LSI "after conducting a roll call."

The municipal government said it has already alerted the police about the escape from the quarantine facility. 

It said the Santo Tomas Interagency Task Force (IATF) is now probing the incident of "what appears to be a gross breach of protocol intentionally and willfully done by these individuals."
