Antipolo City gov't warns curfew, health protocol violators as 14 new COVID-19 cases are confirmed

ANTIPOLO CITY- The city government continues to warn residents of the consequences of getting infected with the coronavirus, with jail time and fines among them, if they disobey the regulations set by the government during the pandemic.

The city government posted the warning on its official Facebook page, accompanied by a photograph that shows several people standing inside a covered court and being lectured about the dangers of COVID-19.

The city government has been reminding residents to stay at home if they have no valid reason to go out, or face the consequences, such as having to stay in a temporary holding facility for at least 12 hours, for first-time offenders. Second-time violators are fined P5,000 and charged in court, aside from being jailed for at least six months.

On July 20, the City Veterinary Office was temporarily closed after some of the office staff who had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case patient were subjected to mandatory quarantine.

The veterinary clinic and vaccination service, except for the meat inspection service which is not affected by the office's temporary closure, will resume on July 29, according to the city government.

As of July 20, the city has recorded 14 new COVID-19 cases that are part of the total of 206 active cases.

Of the 14 new cases, five of them work in Metro Manila, and four are senior citizens, including a 65-year old man from Barangay San Jose, who died a week after showing symptoms of the illness.
