Cagayan Valley posts 11 new COVID-19 cases

CAGAYAN --- The Cagayan Valley region has 11 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases that included two minors as reported by the Department of Health in Region 2 (DOH-2) on Sunday, July 19.

According to a report from the DOH-2 and the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, those were affected by the virus included an eight-year old girl from Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, and a nine-year old girl from Gatarran, Cagayan, who had travelled from Quezon City.

The others who were infected were a 20-year-old woman from Benito Soliven, Isabela; a 39-year-old man from Aurora, Isabela, a 32-year-old man from Mallig, Isabela, and a 23-year-old girl from Cabagan, Isabela.

Those who tested positive from Nueva Vizcaya were a 45-year-old woman from Dupax Del Norte, and a 62-year-old man from Aritao.

The other positive patient was a 37-year-old woman from Piat, Cagayan.

Another patient without a case code has also been added to the list. The patient was a 37-year-old male resident of Enrile, Cagayan and came from Quezon City. The patient was asymptomatic.

Contact tracing is still ongoing on those who may have encountered these patients.

The Cagayan Provincial Information Office said Cagayan Valley region has recorded 228 COVID-19 cases to date.
