Some streets in Pasig's Barangay Manggahan placed on localized ECQ

Several streets in Barangay Manggahan in Pasig City have been placed under localized enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting Sunday (July 19).

In his official Facebook page, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced late Saturday night that the localized lockdown will be imposed on Pipino, Labanos, Okra, and Ubas Streets in Napico, Barangay Manggahan.

According to the mayor, this is due to the increased number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the area.

The Pasig City government said that the lockdown will take effect starting Sunday (July 19) “until lifted by the City Government.”

“Strict implementation will begin Sunday evening. Residents will only be allowed to leave their houses for work and emergency reasons,” it said.

Sotto said the local government will provide affected residents with food packs to minimize the need to buy food outside.

The latest city government data showed that Barangay Manggahan has the second highest number of COVID-19 cases in Pasig with 109 confirmed cases, 53 active cases, 49 recoveries, and seven deaths as of July 18.

Barangay Pinagbuhatan, the city’s most populated village, has the most number of COVID-19 cases in the city with 198 confirmed cases, 99 active cases, 88 recoveries, and 11 deaths.

Pasig City currently has 1,212 confirmed cases, 457 active cases, 661 recoveries, and 94 deaths.
