ANTIPOLO CITY- As the general community quarantine (GCQ) status remains in effect until July 31 in Rizal province, including in this city, at least six communities will be placed under localized enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting Saturday (July 18).
The city government announced on its Facebook page on July 16 that amid the presence of local transmission and hgh case doubling time rate, the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has allowed the city government to place the following areas under ECQ from July 18 to 24:
- Phase1, Cogeo Village, Bagong Nayon;
- Upper Sto. Niño, Barangay Sta. Cruz;

- Phase 2, Sta. Elena Subdivision, Barangay San Jose;
- Phase 2, Peace Village, Barangay San Luis;
- College View Park Homeowners Association Inc. at Purok 4, Zone 8, Barangay Cupang.
While under lockdown, these communities will be strictly guarded by police and village peace keepers on a 24-hour basis to ensure that residents, including senior citizens, and those below 21 years old, and those who are not authorized persons outside of residence (APOR), will stay home.
Only holders of the previously issued home quarantine pass can leave their homes to buy essentials from the market, grocery, or drug store.
The office of Mayor Andrea Ynares said households in the affected communities will be receiving food packs sufficient for the one-week lockdown.
The city government had earlier placed Purok Logcom and Piña Alley in Barangay Dela Paz under ECQ for a week. The lockdown in the two communities will end on Friday (July 17).
As of July 15, the city recorded 15 new confirmed cases for a total of 440, including 182 active cases and 216 recoveries.
