DOH to prioritize use of hospital beds for severe COVID-19 cases
The government is planning to have a "seamless integration" of the use of medical and quarantine facilities for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients to avoid congestion in hospitals.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that they are eyeing to transfer mild COVID-19 patients to temporary treatment and isolation facilities in order for the severe cases to be prioritized in hospitals.
“We have to navigate the patients towards those intermediate facilities with the view that you do not congest the higher level of facilities, which are extremely important insofar as severe and critical cases are concerned,” said Duque.
,” he added.
,” he furthered.
Meanwhile, barangay health emergency response teams will help in identifying suspect or probable cases which can be brought to community isolation units instead of medical facilities, said Duque.
