The Department of Health (DOH) said on Tuesday, July 14, that 634 more people in the country have tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases to 57,545.

DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reported that the tally of recoveries rose to 20,459 after 88 more survivors were recorded. However, there were six new fatalities, raising the death toll to 1,603.
The DOH said that 95 duplicates were removed from the total case count, saying that the “total cases reported may be subject to change as these numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.”
The Health official urged the public to be part of the solution in containing the spread of COVID-19 by following the basic precautionary measures – wearing a face mask, observing social distancing, washing hands frequently, and going out only for essential requirements.
“Staying safe against COVID-19 isn’t just about doing what’s needed when it’s easy or convenient, it’s about always making a conscious effort to protect your friends and loved ones,” said Vergeire.
“Our everyday actions have a potential impact on the spread of the virus, and we have to remember that our responsible decisions, no matter how small, can save lives,” she added.
