P2.2-million worth of shabu seized at Davao City checkpoint
DAVAO CITY – Around P2.2 million worth of illegal drugs was confiscated by personnel of the Toril Police Station and Task Force Davao from a company supervisor at a checkpoint in Barangay Sirawan, Toril District on Saturday night.Â

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) identified the suspect as Allan Rey M. Peralta, 35, supervisor at a multi-national firm engaged in the export of bananas, and a resident of Upper Piedad, Barangay Bato.
A police report said that, at about 6:30 p.m., July 11, the suspect was onboard his motorcycle when he was flagged at the checkpoint.
But after stopping, Peralta was seen by a police officer to have taken something from the pocket of his jacket, and thrown something by the roadside.
This prompted the police officer to retrieve the object Peralta threw, and he found out that these were sachets containing in shabu concealed in a piece of paper.
In all, 15 sachets of shabu were seized from Peralta with a total estimated weight of 160 grams. Based on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 data, shabu was being sold from P12,000 to P15,000 in the region.
The suspect is now detained at Toril Police Station, and will be facing charges for Violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
